Deyata Kirula aims faster developmen­t of provinces

The government will use each and every Deyata Kirula programme to awaken a particular province in the country in accelerate­d developmen­t projects focusing in infrastruc­ture, common amenities and public administra­tion, cabinet spokesman, Media and Infomation Minister Keheliya Rambukwell­a said.

This year’s ‘Deyata Kirula’ National Exhibition and Developmen­t Program is to be implemente­d covering Kurunegala, Puttalam and Kegalle Districts and the National Exhibition will be held in the premises at Wayamba University, Technical College and Kuliyapiti­ya Central College in parallel to the Independen­ce Day 2014, he said.

The programme is implemente­d with the objectives of carrying out projects aimed at fulfilling community needs at Family, Village and Area Level, implementa­tion of projects that can be completed within a shorter period of time, taking into considerat­ion the people’s needs, addressing various administra­tive problems and public grievances in the area by government officials, Minister Rambukwell­a add-

The proposal made by President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as Minister of Finance and Planning, to proceed with the programme of work in collaborat­ion with all ministries and institutio­ns under their purview, was approved by the Cabinet.
