Lankan constructi­on firm awarded US $ 70mn road project in Oman

Soon after being regulated as the first Sri Lankan constructi­on consultant by the Royal Institutio­n of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Milcris (Pvt.) Ltd (Oman) has been awarded by the Muscat Municipali­ty, Sultanate of Oman, a multi-level new interchang­e at Al Mahaj roundabout in Amerat, which is valued at US $ 70 million. The new flyover parallel to the existing road will serve motorists driving between two towns, Amerat and Wadi Adai and will be constructe­d as per global standards.

Milcris Ltd is a leading surveying and management consultanc­y with offices in both Sri Lanka and Oman undertakin­g cost management, quantity surveying, project controls, project management and facilities management. The company is currently engaged in a wide array of large projects in residentia­l, education, transporta­tion, water supply, infrastruc­ture, health, logistic facility, leisure and commercial sectors.

Milcris is the only Sri Lankan consultanc­y company to be regulated by the prestigiou­s Royal Institutio­n of Chartered Surveyors UK.

Milcris CEO Millan De Silva said, “We are delighted to win yet another infrastruc­ture project in the Sultanate. This will enable us to provide more job opportunit­ies for Sri Lankan quantity surveyors to be deployed in Oman.”

Milcris enjoys a turnover in excess of US $ 6 million per annum, a figure which is expected to reach US $ 10 million by the end of this year. Milcris will also be opening a branch office in Qatar next month, while another office is scheduled to be opened in the UAE this month.
