Airtel brings live prayers from Mecca, devotional services this Ramazan

With the objective of spreading the spirit of Ramazan this season, Bharti Airtel Lanka, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, announced yet another innovation - the Mobile Islamic devotional zone, where subscriber­s can access many devotional services through one toll free number.

The first-of-its-kind service requires customers to simply dial one number to access various services befitting the Ramazan season such as Quran recitals and live video and audio streaming from Mecca. Live prayers from Mecca can also be viewed on hptt://wap.airtel.lk

By dialling just one number, which is also toll free, our subscriber­s can access numerous devotional services. This is a great example of how Airtel uses technology to bridge physical distances and bring emotional and spiritual experience­s on your mobile at the click of a button.”

Airtel customers can dial 55621 toll free to access many Islamic devotional services including Quran recitals and live video and audio streaming. The service also provides excerpts from the Quran and Hadees via SMS. In addition subscriber­s can set Islamic prayers as their Welcome Tunes, activate prayer time alerts and download Islamic wallpapers, images, live feeds and prayers from Mecca.
