DHARMASIRI NEVER OFFENDEDTHE MEDIA AND WAS RESPECTED BYTHEM:NIMAL SIRIPALA

When late SLFP stalwart Dharmasiri Senanayaka was the Media Minister he never offended the media and all the journalists held him in high esteem, which led to a close rapport between the government and the media, Irrigation and Water Resources Management Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva revealed.

Speaking at the 13th commemoration ceremony of the late Information and Media Minister and SLFP General Secretary Dharmasiri Senanayaka at the Castle Street Roundabout in Borella, Minister De Silva said that the former minister was still loved by party sup- porters and media personnel as he had such a big heart.

“Minister Senanayaka gave his all to his party, the SLFP, and to the media during his political career. He believed that the media must remain independent and should not be influenced by anyone.
