‘Adjusting to evaluation feedbacks also applies to people’
Evaluation is about remaining open to continuing feedback and making adjustments accordingly and this is very true for Performance Evaluation of individuals as well, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga said.
Delivering the keynote address at the International Conference themed "Evaluation for Change" at the Mt. Lavinia Hotel yesterday, Mr. Weeratunga stressed the objective of Evaluation in fact was not to point fingers, but it was about asking relevant questions and finding information that answered those questions.
“It is unfortunate that Evaluation is often perceived as a fault-finding exercise by many public servants. Not many people find comfort in a false notion that their actions are under regular scrutiny, and there is the prospect of the sword of Damocles hovering over their heads which is totally a misconception,” he emphasised.
