He said taking a cue from these unfortunate incidents, dis.cussions were held with all insurance companies in implementing a special insurance scheme for the welfare of students countrywide.

“This scheme has the blessings of the President as well,” he said. The minister distributed school books, bags and school uniforms valued at Rs.400,000 donated by the Sisudiriya Sathkara Foundation.
