Anc-monash partnership brings best for students

-

ANC Education, initiated in 2002, has fast become t he preferred institute of many students in Sri Lanka to earn their degree internally or by studying in a premier destination through the many partner universities of ANC. Accordingly, ANC has long since been in a partnership with Monash University and College, striving to bring the best for students.

Monash College is a fully-owned subsidiary of Monash University, Australia which is among the top 1 percent of the world universities according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (2012 -2013). “Monash University is one of the most well regarded uni- versities in Australia,” said Monash College Diplomas Director Dr. Faye Lambert. “One of the key focus points of our mission is producing outstanding research graduates.” Adding to these sentiments, Monash College Transition Specialist Support Group (TSSG) Manager Anne Dwyer said, “Monash University is one of the most preferred places for employees. They know that these students have the attributes to perform well in the workforce.”

For those who are aspiring to join the prestigious Monash University to become part of the outstanding research graduates, Monash College offers carefully tailored pathway programmes to enter the university. There are four programmes within the college, namely the Foundation Year Prog ramme, English Language Programmes, Diplomas in Art and Design Studies, Arts, Business or Engineering Studies and Professional Pathways for graduates to enhance their employment capabilities.

“Students from all over the world, regardless of the countries that they come from, can gain entry into Monash University by passing through our programme,” said Dr. Lambert. “Monash College provides a transition programme with additional support to fast track students who may not have the same qualifications as our domestic students and therefore can’t get directly into Monash University. So we are a trans education pathway programme for international students.”

Through ANC, Sri Lankan students can complete the Monash University Foundation Ye a r programme, Diploma of Business (Part 2) and Engineering (Part 2) and directly transfer to Monash University Australia or Malaysia. With a passing rate of 89 percent MCSL (Monash College Sri Lanka) is able to provide students with a quality education and a valuable pathway that will lay the foundation for their university degree. This will also add as a facilitator in bridging the gap between international and domestic students in regard to the qualifications required.

The destination degrees available include civil, mechanical, electrical and electronic, aeronautical, accounting and finance, inter national business, management, biotechnology, bio science, medicine and computer science to name a few. Fur ther more, through transferring students are able to save up to 50 percent to 70 percent of their course fees as the course fee in Sri Lanka is 1/4 of that of Australia and 1/2 of that of Malaysia.
