Eleven persons detained for allegedly breaking law

In a raid conducted at the Madolsima town, eleven persons were taken into custody on miscellaneous charges by the Madolsima Police.

Police said the cases were filed against the eight persons who had allegedly broken traffic laws.

Among the persons taken into custody were persons who behaved indecently under the influence of liquor.

A team of police officers including the Madolsima OIC IP Chandana Jayathilake conducted the operation on the instructions of the Badulla Police Superintendent Gregory Cooray and ASP Pushpa Kumara Fernando.

Further investigations were proceeding.
