NTB opens first Banking Centre at SLBFE

Nations Trust Bank (NTB) reached a new landmark with the opening of the very first Banking Centre at the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE).

As Sri Lanka’s fastest growing banking network now serving customers in 63 locations, NTB has ventured into the area of remittance­s recently with the objective of contributi­ng to the inflow of the country’s foreign exchange income. In line with the government’s vision of promoting more skilled workers under the theme of ‘Migration with Dignity’ and with the objective of achieving US $ 10 billion remittance­s by year 2016, NTB will be working very closely with the SLBFE, Central Bank and other institutio­ns to facilitate reaching this milestone.

Commenting at the opening DGM Retail and SME Keshini Jayawarden­a said, “As we partner with the SLBFE, the foremost organisati­on that caters to the welfare of Sri Lanka’s migrant workers, we are pleased to inform you that this Nations Trust Bank Banking Centre will assist potential migrant workers by providing basic training on banking and financial matters, assist in opening of accounts both LKR savings and NRFC and also provide migrants with a cobranded debit card with the bureau, commu- nicate the remittance partners’ informatio­n and receive financial advice and informatio­n on other products and services that NTB offers. All customers who open accounts at this Banking Counter will be entitled for free mobile and Internet banking.”
