Cinnamon Lakeside appoints Spanish Chef Rodrigo
Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo is renowned for its star-class dining experiences and has continued to grow in the arena of international cuisine. The hotel houses chefs from different regions of the world who specialise in unique dishes from around the globe. The latest addition to this team of international chefs is Spanish Chef Rodrigo Benedicto who will be cooking up a storm at 7˚ North, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo’s trendy bar and restaurant.
The young and dynamic Chef Rodrigo starteda his career in 2007, in the South of Spain, where he studied to specialize in all areas of kitchen operations. Thereon, his career grew rapidly as he was given the opportunity to work at Sheraton Hotel for a period of one year before being given the prestigious responsibility of opening the kitchen at W Hotel in Barcelona in 2009 as Chef de Partie which was his most recent post before joining Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo.
Rodrigo brings a wide range of experience to Sri Lanka in the hope of creating the best Spanish dishes for all those who visit 7˚ North. Speaking of his team at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, Rodrigo voices that the associates are all very enthusiastic to lear n new skills and are innovative, vital elements for creating a dynamic kitchen that dishes out creative and unique cuisine that is bound to leave patrons coming back for more.
Paella, a favourite in Spanish cuisine will be a specialty on the new menu at 7˚ North, designed by Chef Rodrigo. The traditional seafood rice dish will use authentic Spanish spices and flavours and is sure to satisfy the palate of the greatest epicure. Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo has a repertoire of international chefs, namely, Chef Aree Jitman serving authentic Thai cuisine at the Royal Thai, Chef Qiu Zhi Qiang (Jason) at the Long Feng Chinese restaurant and Chef Rana from New Delhi serving delectable Indian dishes. This team of diverse chefs is headed by Executive Chef Martin Becquart from France.
7˚ North at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo offers a stylishly casual al-fresco dining experience overlooking the Beira Lake. The restaurant also serves delicious tapas, exquisite Mediterranean cuisine and a variety of cocktails while a range of live bands completes the ambience every evening.
