DIG calls for meeting

Daily Mirror learns that Senior DIG Lalith Jayasinghe had called for a meeting of all the Officers-In-Charge of the Sabaragamuwa Province in Mawanella which was presided over by Chief Minister Maheepala Herath and other ministers of the province.

During the meeting the Senior DIG was said to have informed the Officers-In-Charge that they were,

“bound to serve the incumbent government and that consists of all those present here”.

The meeting was called a week after the murder of the estate Superintendent Nimal Perera, with no mention being made regarding the murder or the pending inquiry, sources said.
