Defective brakes on Badulla bus
A bus transporting pilgrims from Badulla to Ratnapura ran off the road at Soranathota on the Tennapanduwa road and slammed into the bank of the road. Five passengers including two children were injured in the mishap.
The driver said the bus developed a technical defect and he turned it towards the bank to prevent it from going down a precipice. He said there were about 45 passengers on board at the time of the accident. Badulla police conducting investigations said the bus had defective brakes.
