She won several awards

Galle Sanghamitt­a College Grade7 student P. Sandali Anutthara has come first at the art competitio­n for Asian children organised by

UNESCO. She will receive her award at a ceremony in Kobe City on August 1. She came out with flying colours at the competitio­n at which 70,000 children from 26 countries participat­ed. She is the second child of Galle District Central Environmen­tal Authority’s Asst. Director Sunil Garusingha and Galle District Secretaria­t Samurdhi Manager Udani Renuka.

Sandali who was awarded for her achievemen­ts at the All Island Art Competitio­n for Schoolchil­dren and the Martin Wickremesi­nghe Memorial Art Competitio­n in 2011 came second in the vocal music competitio­n at the National Literary Festival for children

Her elder sister P. Piumi Himasha who is also a student of Galle Sanghamitt­a College has recorded many achievemen­ts in art.
