All-time record price for Etambagahawila tea

An all-time record was obtained at the Colombo tea auction held recently for an OP1 grade produced by Etambagahawila Tea Factory.

The teas were sold at a price of Rs.930 per Kg in the Low Grown Category which was sold by Bartleet Produce Marketing (Pvt.) Ltd tea brokers and purchased by the buyer/exporter Union Commodities (Pvt.) Ltd on behalf of Beta Tea — Turkey. Etambagahawila Tea Factory, which is one of the four factories owned by Bandula Nanayakkara, is situated in the Gale District.
