SAJITH CASTS DOUBTS ABOUT JOINING IT

United National Party (UNP) Hambantota District MP Sajith Premadasa yesterday raised doubts over his participation in the party’s election campaign by questioning the decision to include him in the election coordination committee.

Both Mr. Premadasa and Mr. Jayasuriya were included in the party’s election coordination committee, which was announced yesterday.

“How can a person who is not good enough to participate in the party’s nomination board be found suitable to be included in the election coordination

Mr. Premadassa said it was not correct for him to participate in the coordination committee

committee,” he asked.

Meanwhile party sources said MPs Asoka Abeysinghe and Palitha Range Bandara would meet Mr. Wickremesinghe at 11am today.

When contacted by the Daily Mirror Mr. Abeysinghe confirmed that he and Mr. Range Bandara would meet Mr. Wickremesinghe today.

He is reported to have informed the party hierarchy that his membership should be restored if he was to participate in the election campaign.

He had also requested that he be reappointed as the Kurunegala District organiser. However the fate of both MPs would be known at today’s meeting.
