COMPUTER THEFT SUSPECTS IN POLICE BAG

Six suspects were taken into custody in connection with the theft of computer accessorie­s from a showroom in Matugama town. The chief suspect had broken open a window and entered the showroom and taken away the computer accessorie­s.

Polgampola in the Matugama police area.

Police said the main suspect had packed the computer accessorie­s in gunny bags and transporte­d them in several trips to a house where he hid them until they were sold.

The trishaw driver stated that the suspect hired the trishaw claiming that he wanted to transport some goods received from a relative abroad.

The individual­s who purchased the stolen goods cheaply were from Polgampola, Kitulgoda, Neboda and Migahathen­na. A police team in civvies carried out the raid and arrested the suspect on informatio­n received from an individual who came to know about the secret transactio­ns.
