Pro Food Pro Pack and Ag-biz back with a new look

Pro Food Pro Pack and Ag-Biz, an internatio­nal processed food, beverage, packaging and agricultur­al exhibition, was inaugurate­d at the BMICH Exhibition Centre yesterday.

Themed ‘From the farm to the kitchen’, the 12th annual Pro Food Pro Pack show and the eighth annual Ag-Biz exhibition will showcase products and services of every component in the processed food and packaging industry.

As the country’s largest food processing and agricultur­al exhibition, this year’s expo is attended by 20 countries includ- ing India, China, Malaysia, Dubai, Singapore, the USA, Thailand and Pakistan.

The exhibition aims to provide a platform for the small, medium and large-scale food processing companies to both the local and internatio­nal markets.

The exhibition is supported and endorsed by the Agricultur­e Ministry, Industry and Commerce Ministry, National Agri Business Council, Processed Food Developers Initiative and Institute of Food Science and Technology Sri Lanka.

This year too, the popular ‘Cooking Studio’ event will be held by the chefs of Cinnamon Grand Hotel featuring a mix of oriental, eastern and western dishes, along with special hourly draws and discounts ranging from 20 percent to 60 percent on food and beverages.

The event sponsors are Elephant House and PCL Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd-Platinum sponsors, Nikini Automation and Wijeya Products (Pvt.) Ltd-Gold sponsors and Roza Macaroni-Silver sponsor, Nations Trust Bank-official banker, Sanasa Insurance Company-official insurance provider and Wijeya newspapers-official printing partner.

Inaugurate­d by Economic Developmen­t Minister Basil Rajapaksa as the Chief Guest and High Commission­er for India Y.K. Singha as the Guest of Honour, the exhibition consists of 370 stalls and will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. until August 25.
