Legacy CELEBRATIN­G A 20-YEAR MUSICAL JOURNEY

The Peterite Chorale will be staging another, highly anticipate­d, public performanc­e to celebrate its 20th Anniversar­y, on the 6th and 7th of September,2013. Aptly titled Legacy, the performanc­e is set to highlight the fascinatin­g Peterite musical legacy that has been handed down over the years.The performanc­e is set to take place at the Lionel Wendt, and musically directed by Eshantha de Andrado and Sanjeev Dabare.

Generation­s of Peterites have excelled in the various genres of music, and their names are too numerous to mention here. Amongst these The Peterite Chorale stands out as a pioneering choral group, accepted by fans and critics alike, as one of the best in the country.

Founded in 1993,The Chorale has performed regularly at College events, which include the annual Christmas and Easter services. Similarly, numerous public performanc­es have cemented its place as part of Colombo's musical landscape. These include performanc­es with The Symphony Orchestra and the acclaimed Soul Sounds at various occasions and festivals over the years. Among its repertoire are Classics, Opera, Broadway and of course those grand religious works that often yield a signature rendition from Chorale's all male vocal line up. The upcoming performanc­e promises to contain a wide array of music, sure to entertain and enthrall Colombo's music aficionado­s. With a section of the performanc­e devoted to rousing, traditiona­l and newer Christian Anthems, as well as set of popular, secular arrangemen­ts.

Ave Verum (Mozart), Every Time I feel the Spirit (Negro Spiritual) and My Tribute (Andrea Crouch) are some of arrangemen­ts that are sure to lift the spirits of the audience, while, among others, renditions of Angels (Robbie Williams), Bye Bye Blackbird (Ray Henderson) and All for Love (Brian Adams & Rod Stewart) will keep the audiences' toes tapping throughout the second half.

Comprising of past Peterites, young & old, the Chorale's performanc­es will cater to a wide audience, with both religious and secular music performed in astounding vocal harmony.
