Richmond advances to final
Richmond College Galle advanced to the final of the Under 15 Division One cricket tournament with a convincing 134-run over Sri Sumangala Panadura in the final played at the Galle International Stadium yesterday.
Richmond taking first lease of the wicket were guided by two fine knocks by opener and left hand batsman Dhananjaya Lakshan who made a 47-ball 72 with eight boundaries and three sixes and Hasaru Chamikara who chipped in with a 70 helping them to make a formidable score of 272 for 8 in their 50 overs.
Sri Sumangala in their run chase were nowhere near the target as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were able to muster only 138. Richmond will now meet St Peter’s Bambalapitiya in the final on October 2 slotted to be played at P. Sara Stadium.

Wadduwa MMV clinched the Under 15 Division Two title with an easy four-wicket win over Royal B in the final played at Campbell Park yesterday. Royal ‘B’ batting first were bundled out for a meager 68 with Vimarshana Dulshan and Gayan Fonseka doing the damage. Wadduwa MMV in their run chase underwent some anxious moments before reaching the target in the 22nd over. Nilipul Dharshan of Wadduwa MMV who made an unbeaten 37 with six boundaries and a six was adjudged the manof thematch.
