Rajeeva new CEO at CSE

The director board of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) yesterday announced the appointmen­t of Rajeeva Bandaranai­ke as the CSE’s new Chief Executive Officer with effect from November 14.

Bandaranai­ke has been the CEO of Orient Finance PLC since May 2012 and was the CEO of People’s Merchant Bank PLC from July 2011 to May 2012.

From 1992 to 2011, Bandaranai­ke held various capacities at the CSE.

He had served as an Assistant Manager of Clearing and Settlement, Manager Trading, Senior Manager (Marketing, Human Resources) and an Assistant General Manager (Business Developmen­t) at the CSE. He was appointed AGM Clearing and Settlement in January 2008.

Prior to joining the CSE, Bandaranai­ke had served as an Executive of Mercantile Credit Ltd from July 1985 to June 1991 and as an Assistant Manager (Credit) at LB Finance Ltd from March 1991 to August 1992.

He holds a Master’s in Business Administra­tion (General) from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, a Postgradua­te Diploma in Marketing, CIM, UK, Postgradua­te Level Certificat­e Course in Strategic Marketing, PIM, University of Sri Jayewarden­epura, Bachelor of Law, Open University of Sri Lanka, Profession­al Stock Broker Examinatio­n, the Securities Institute of Australia and a Diploma in Credit Management from the Sri Lanka Institute of Credit Management.
