Message from H.E. Mr. Nopporn Adchariyavanich Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Sri Lanka

On behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and Thai people, it is my pleasure to extend warm greetings to the people of Sri Lanka on the 86th Birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Thai National Day, December 5, 2013.

The year 2013 has been a colourful and wonderful year for Thailand and Sri Lanka. Notably, we start this year with the yearround celebration on the 260th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Siam Nikaya in Sri Lanka (Siam Upasampada). Also, Thai Prime Minister, Her Excellency Ms.Yingluck Shinawatra paid an official visit to Sri Lanka, which enhanced bilateral relations and cooperation. Most importantly, it is our great honour to welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, a daughter of His Majesty the King, to this historically rich coun- try. This truly proves the long-standing friendly and cordial relations between our two countries.

Apart from cultural and religious relations as well as the visits of high ranking figures from Thailand, economic and technical cooperation are also other areas which could take our existing close relations to a higher plane. The Royal Thai Embassy will continue to work with the Government of Sri Lanka to further strengthen and deepen the relations and cooperation between our two countries for mutual benefits and prosperity.
