No power cuts says CEB
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) announced yesterday that there was no danger of power disruptions even though hydropower generation had to be limited to around 28% a day due to the decrease in the water levels in major reservoirs generating hydro power in order to save water for other purposes.
CEB Media spokesperson and Deputy General Manager Senujith Dassanayake said that about 79% to 80% hydro power was generated last year when the water levels in the reservoirs were at full capacity but the decrease in the water levels had reduced it to around 25% a day at present.
