Thomians unite to show gratitude to their teachers

Thomians Young and Thomians Old from the ‘School by the Sea’ and its affiliates: Prep Schools at Kollupitiy­a, Bandarawel­a and Gurutalawa will Compete in a Fund Raiser TRIATHLON, well supported by Dialog as the Technology Partner, Ceylinco Insurance as its Insurer and The Nations Trust Bank as the Banking Partner on January 25.

The Triathlon is organised by the Old Boys Associatio­n (OBA), the Parents Teachers Associatio­n (PTA) and all Thomian Students of the four Schools. Triathlon is to raise Funds for the New Commerce Building of the Secondary School and to establish a Trust Fund to assist teachers of the School.

The Commerce Building will be constructe­d in three phases, the work on the building has already begun with 12 classrooms expected to be operationa­l in May 2014.

The Triathlon will begin with Swimming at Bishops and Ladies College swimming pools from 6.00 to 8.00 am, then Running/walking to Havelock Park grounds from 8.15 to 10.00 a.m. and the final leg of Cycling to Mt. Lavinia along Galle Road from 10.30 a.m. to Noon, where the Event will culminate and reach a climax with a Mini Carnival within the College premises from 12.30 p.m. onwards. Participan­ts will include Students, Old Boys, Parents and Teachers from the affiliated Preparator­y Schools including those from the hills of Sri Lanka.

All Triathlon participan­ts must obtain a participat­ory Donation card from the College OBA Secretaria­t by contributi­ng Rs.3,000.00 and obtaining a Specially Designed Sports Triathlon Shirt and Cap.
