Rs.2,000 worth dry rations given to 110 families

More than Rs.200,000 worth of dry rations were distribute­d among 110 families at Mahabellan­a and Bolgoda in Bandaragam­a by the Board of Trustees of the Ganga Sri Thunbodhi Temple which is located near the Bolgoda bridge. The event was held to mark the dawning of the New Year. Each family received a bag of dry rations worth Rs.2,000.00. The beneficiar­ies were selected by Grama Niladahrie­s of the respective areas. Ganga Sri Thunbodhi temple has a 300 year-history. It was renovated about two years ago after the constructi­on of the new bridge. Thousands of devotees including travellers on the Horana- Panadura main road attend religious observance­s at the Ganga Sri Thunbodhi Temple.
