Schoolboy Ravindu Laksiri emerges both junior and senior national champion
D.S.Senanayake College, Colombo schoolboy Ravindu Laksiri emerged the national squash champion at the National Squash Tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Squash Federation.
The tournament was held from December 20 to 23 at the Ratmalana Air Force Indoor Stadium.
Laksiri thus achieved a remarkable feat winning both the Junior and Senior Squash Championships within a year.
Ravindu who started playing in squash competitions under the age category of 9, now represents Sri Lanka in the international field. He has brought fame and glory to the school as well as the country.
While participating in sports activities he didn’t neglect his studies. He obtained excellent results at the GCE - O/L and now he continues his studies to take up the GCE - A/L exam.
He intends to take part in the Olympics and expects to bring honour to his motherland Sri Lanka.
