Mangala hits out at CB’s coin-retrieving move

The main opposition UNP yesterday alleged that moves by the Central Bank to bring 20 tonnes of Sri Lankan coins from Buddhist and Hindu shrines in India confirmed the bankrupt state of the Sri Lankan Treasury.

UNP Leadership Council member and newly appointed Political Affairs Secretary Mangala Samara- weera told journalists that it was unbelievable that the Central Bank had come out with such suggestions.
