U’grads engaged in leadership training to get more time to register

The Higher Education Ministry said yesterday the students who were participating in the latest leadership programme would be given a week after the completion of the programme to get registered at their respective universities.

Ministry Secretary Sunil Jayantha Nawaratne said that the third stage of the leadership programme would be held between January 18 and February 7, the time in which student registrations would be held at some universities.

Mr. Nawaratne said that the students who were participating in the leadership programme would not be affected because the ministry would be informing the vice chancellors and registrars of the new arrangement dealing with registrations.

The Leadership programme for the first group of undergraduates was held between November 23 and December 15 while the second group was presently engaged in their leadership programme which would end on January 10.
