Richmond in control against St.Servatius

Richmond College Galle continued their good form by restrictin­g St. Servatius College to a first innings score of 90 runs yesterday. The under 19 division one cricket match is being played at the Uyanwatte Stadium Matara.

Batting first St. Servatius’ were shot out for 90 runs. Charith Asa- lanka 3 for 12, Varuna Deshapriya 2 for 2, Saveen Nanayakkar­a 2 for 24 and Chamod Piumal 2 for 42 cashed in on the wickets while left handed batsman Mayantha Abeydeera opening the innings topped the score card with 40 runs off 47 balls (six boundaries).

Richmond were in a strong position with the score at 117/2 when bad light put an end to the first day’s play. Kelum Nanayakkar­a was unbeaten on 56 off 81 balls.
