UK minister talks to NGOs on SL
Britain Foreign Office Minister Hugo Swire met several Non- Governmental Organisations including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International on Thursday and held discussions on the human rights situation in Sri Lanka.
In a twitter post, Swire stated
I made clear the importance Britain attaches to continued progress on human rights
“Met NGOs @HRW @AmnestyUK @freedomfromtorture @SLcampaign this morning to discuss human rights in
#SriLanka and the impact of our attendance @CHOGM”. “I made clear the importance Britain attaches to continued progress on human rights in SL, including on accountability.”
He said he also discussed the impact of their attendance at the CHOGM in Colombo last November.
