Tree branch removed from accident victim's armpit

Doctors of the Gampha base hospital surgically removed the branch of a tree that penetrated the armpit of a man when he fell off a king coconut tree.

The victim Dinusha Lakmal of Minuwangoda, had fallen off the tree when he was plucking king coconuts in his garden, He had been taken to the Minuwangoda hospital with the branch in his armpit.

He had later been transferred to the base hospital in Gampaha for surgery.

He is now in hospital convalescing after the operation.
