Motorcyclist dies after being hit by lorry

A 63-year-old motorcyclist died on the spot after being knocked down by a lorry at Katupotha on the Katupotha- Narammala road yesterday.

The victim was identified as Wanigasuriya Mudiyanselage Podinilame but the driver had fled the scene without reporting the accident to police. A team from the Katupotha police which conducted investigations arrested the suspect driver and seized the vehicle yester- day afternoon.

The driver was to be produced in court after recording his statement.
