Thundershowers expected in NP, NCP East and Uva

The turbulent nature of the wind from the east will cause intermittent thundershowers today in the Northern, North Central, Eastern and Uva Provinces, and also in the Hambantota District, according to the Meteorological Department.

During the afternoon and night most of the other areas of the country will experience thundershowers said Meteorologist Channa Rodrigo

The department also warned the people of lightning during thundershowers and asked them to take precautionary measures

The coastal areas from Kankesanthurai to Trincomalee and Hambantota via Pottuvil will have intermittent rain and rough seas, said the official.
