Telecom Inspector killing: Wanted suspect nabbed

When the last suspect was arrested in the Poruwa Danda area, the Police were able to take into custody the weapons used in the killing, along with two motorcycle­s and several items belonging to the Telecom inspector

The last wanted suspect in the brutal killing of a Homagama Telecom Inspector (47) on January 1, was arrested on Friday by the Ingiriya Police.

A public protest was held on the Colombo - Ingiriya Main Road on January 4th demanding the arrest of the suspects in this killing. The protest ended with the assurance given by the Panadura Senior Police Superinten­dent (SSP) Kapila Kadupitiya that the suspects would be arrested within five days.

Three suspects were arrested earlier and were in remand prison.

he suspects were residents from the Handapango­da area and were aged between 23- 28.

A group of police officers led by Ingiriya OIC Udaya Kumara were conducting investigat­ions on the instructio­ns of the Panadura SSP Kapila Kadupitiya and Horana ASP D.M.J.B. Dassanayak­e.
