Arogya 2014 first aid programme

“Arogya – 2014” Inter School First Aid Programme and Workshop, will be held for two days on 13 and 22 February at the Ananda College premises. These events have been organised every year by the Saukyadana Unit of Ananda College, Colombo, and this is the 48th such event.

Medical it’, Inter School First Aid Competitio­n will be held on 13 February at the college premises. 100 first aid units covering all the districts will participat­e in this competitio­n and the best first aid unit will also be chosen on this day.

The judges at this competitio­n will comprise a nursing group, including Dr. Puspa Ramyani De Zoyisa the Chief Nurses’ Training Officer at the National Hospital and a group of leading medical officers at “edoctor.lk” which provides medical consultanc­y in the country.

“Arogya – 2014,” the main workshop will be held at 9.00 a.m. on 28 February at the Ananda College Kularatne Hall with the patronage of an old Anandian, Health Services Director General, Dr. Palitha Maheepala.The school’s first aid unit which exhibited the excellent performanc­es at the last time will be honoured as this year’s excellent first aid unit. A series of medical health lectures relating to accidents and a number of health programmes will also be conducted on this day by renowned lecturers.

The first aid units which show excellent performanc­es on this day at the ‘Medical – it’ competitio­n will be honoured.
