Randev cracks maiden ton as Royal makes 276

Randev Pathirana cracked his maiden ton when he made 111 while Harith Samarasing­he made an unbeaten 72 for Royal against De Mazenod Kandana in the Under 19 interschoo­l cricket encounter played at Reid Avenue.

Randev’s 156 ball knock comprised 13 boundaries and two sixes as he along with Chamika Karunaratn­e put on a 70 run stand for the fifth wicket helping Royal make a score of 276 for 8 declared.

De Mazenod in their turn ended the day making a bold score of 118 for 3. The match will be continued today.

Tharaka slams quick fire 121

Tharaka Dhananjaya slammed a quick fire 77 ball knock of 121 to put Carey on top against Raddoluwa MMV on the opening day of their Under 19 match played at Railway grounds in Mount Mary.

Tharaka’s knock included 13 boundaries and eight sixes and was supported by a half ton by Sajeewa Karunaratn­e enabling Carey batting first post a formidable score of 344 for 9 declared.

Tharaka with this ton has so far scored 991 runs in 11 matches which includes three tons and five half tons.
