TNA ignoring East :TMVP

The Tamil National Alliance was not voicing for the Eastern Province in the internatio­nal for a, leader of the Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal (TMVP) leader Sivanesadu­rai Chandrakan­than said in Batticaloa on Saturday, March 15.

He was speaking as the Chief Guest at the release of the short film, Aa

viya by the Kaluthaval­ai Educationa­l Developmen­t Union.

“The people of the East have been Politicall­y defeated again, while the people of the North have seen victory in it,” he said.

’’Today internatio­nally, big mistakes are being made. At the UN Council there is talk about implementi­ng the 13th Amendment. But it is not said that it has to be implemente­d in the North only. TNA is not talking about the East,” he said.

“Those who asked for a separate state are now asking for Provincial Council system. If the Provincial Council system had been implemente­d long ago, so many lives could have been saved,” he said.

To put a full stop to this, we must build up a society to encourage everyone to build up a strong society of youngsters. Although the East has good natural resources and strong manpower, we still have to depend on others. We have to change this,” he said.

“Our society is highly competitiv­e. Bearing this in mind, we have to build up our society .We all should look upon this as our social responsibi­lity. For a long time, our youngsters, writers, artistes were all unable to show their skills. Now the blocks have been removed and we are living at a time when all can show their skills.”
