Sanjaya Jayaratne appointed COYLE’s new Chairman
The Chamber of Young Lankan Entrepreneurs (COYLE), one of the largest business chambers in the country, celebrated its 15th anniversary on March 10. The Chief Guest to grace the occasion was President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Ministers, MP’s of the Ruling Party abd Opposition, Government officials and members of the Diplomatic community were also present, together with COYLE members, their spouses and numerous business leaders.
Preceding the event, COYLE’s Annual General Meeting took place, wherein the new Chairman of COYLE Sanjaya Jayaratne was sworn in as the new Chairman for the current period 2014/2015, taking over from Wasantha De Silva – the Immediate Past Chairman. Mr. Navein Perera was elected Chairman Elect for 2015/2016 and Mr. Kasun Rajapaksa as Chairman Elect for 2016/2017.
COYLE also saluted top business leaders with the presentation of “Achievers awards” to five (5) top achievers in business entrepreneurship consisting of Messrs. Sumal Perera – Access International (Pvt) Ltd., Gahanath Pandithage – Diesel & Motor Engineering Co., Manjula Narayana – NMK Holdings (Pvt) Ltd., Kasun Rajapaksa – DSI Samson Group and Sujeewa Palliyaguruge – Senani Holdings.
A token of appreciation to His Excellency President Mahinda Rajapaksa was handed over by COYLE Chairman Sanjaya Jayaratne & Immediate Past Chairman Wasantha De Silva.
The event was an important milestone in the continuing growth and success of Sri Lanka’s business community. COYLE has been a significant force in the country’s economic development for the period of its existence, and it has an especially relevant role to play today, with Sri Lanka experiencing a rapid economic growth.
The Chamber of Young Lankan Entrepreneurs (COYLE) in 1999 commenced its journey towards regenerating the corporate sector. It’s registered under the Companies Act of No. 17 of 1982.
