tiative and collected about Rs.25,000,000 needed for the refurbishment and entrusted the project to N & A Engineering Services.
Speaking about the completion of this project, N & A Engineering Services (Pvt.) Limited Managing Director Nimal Premasiri said, “As Buddhist entrepreneurs, we accepted this project of national importance as something we are duty bound to carry out. Though this refurbishment was a project small in size, it was a project that had to be carried out with the utmost reverence and care.
Thousands of students and the public worship this shrine room in a day. Refurbishing a shrine room where a Buddha statue so revered is situated is very complex and risky. If by any mischance even a small damage is caused to the Buddha statue, it is very difficult to rectify it.
This Buddha statue is one of the world’s most valuable art treasures. Our team carried out this project very successfully. Our abilities and over two decades of experience in the construction sphere were of the greatest assistance to us in completing this project.”
