Singer and Unilever introduce Pureit Ultima Hard Water Purifier

-

Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC and FMCG giant Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd. recently introduced the affordably priced Pureit Ultima 418 RO water purifier to the Western and Central Provinces of Sri Lanka. Singer joined forces with Unilever to target farming communities that are plagued by kidney diseases believed to have been caused by drinking water that is sullied by fertilizers.

Unilever Marketing Director, Siddhartha Banerji, officially handed over the distribution rights of the Pureit Ultima to Singer Chairman, Stephen Goodwin, at the Singer Lifestyle Exhibition. The Pureit Ultima 418 RO, now distributed through selected Singer Plus, Sisil World and Singer Mega stores, is the most powerful water purifier with the technology to convert hard water into safe and clean water for drinking.

The Pureit Ultima was purposebuilt by specialist engineers at Unilever to break down the hardest of waters and it is a solution that has met the strict standards set by the US Environmental Protection Authority and the London School of Hygiene. A dedicated team of after-sales professionals trained by Unilever is available to support Pureit Ultima users across the country on any

day of the year via the hotline 7 695 695.

The Pureit Ultima cleans hard water through an effective 6-stage purification system: a PreSediment Filter, a Pre-RO Carbon Filter, a Post-Carbon Sediment Filter, a RO Membrane, a Micro Filtration Membrane, and the final Post-RO Carbon Filter, which polishes and enhances the taste. The technology can further handle a Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) removal of upto 1800ppm while the handy-sized Pureit Ultima includes a convenient 4-liter storage tank, an advance voltage fluctuation guard, a break-resistant tap and a system that digitally alerts you 15 days before you need to change its ‘germ kill’ kit.

Singer, with its industry-best island-wide distribution and service networks and strong community connections, possessed the necessary vision and capabilities to market Unilever’s Pureit Ultima in Sri Lanka. Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Trincomali, Puttalam, Vavuniya, Killinochia and Jaffna, where the Pureit Ultima was first launched, will welcome the Singer easy payment scheme that allows customers to take home the product by paying Rs. 8650 and settling the rest in installments of upto 12 months.

The Pureit Ultima joins the Singer distributed range of water purifiers that drives the Singer Water for Life CSR campaign efforts. Water For Life, which was launched in 2012, takes a 360-degree approach to resolving the issue of water-borne diseases in Sri Lanka. The ongoing project includes celebrity-endorsed awareness campaigns and a fund developed through a percentage of the sales of Singer-distributed water purifiers. The proceeds of the fund are directed towards purchasing dialysis machines that assist kidney disease patients. Singer has so far donated two topof-the range dialysis machines to the Polonnaruwa Hospital as well as making the Water For Life safe drinking water bottle available to customers.
