Maru Sira’s widow visits Bogambara

Among the thousands who visited Bogambara Prison after it was opened for public viewing was the 70-year-old widow of notorious criminal J. D. Siripala alias ‘Maru Sira’, who was hanged at the Bogambara prison in the mid 70s.

Those who visited Bogambara Prisons yesterday may have been surprised to see Ranmenika making her way to glimpse at the prison cell where her husband had spent his last days before being sent to the gallows. It was one of the popular sights for the visitors.
