BoC sponsors Sigiriya Rally Cross 2014

Bank of Ceylon (BoC), extending its support to develop sports in Sri Lanka, is the Principal sponsor of the Sigiriya Rally Cross 2014 for the fifth consecutiv­e year. The funds raised from this event will be allocated to welfare and social developmen­t activities of Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF).

Bankers to the Nation, BoC strongly believes that the Sigiriya Rally – Cross truly addresses the SLAF organisers’ primary objective of enhancing mutual understand­ing and trust between SLAF personnel and civilians and at the same time assist to enhance the image of Sigiriya historic area attracting adventure seeking local and foreign tourists.

The organisers ensure that many talented competitor­s will race in this specially designed track, making it an event that is not to be missed by motor racing enthusiast­s as it puts a truly remarkable test on the skills and speed of these riders and drivers.

Developing sports will help to develop the national harmony in the country. Bank of Ceylon is in the forefront in developing sports in Sri Lanka. Bank of Ceylon recorded yet another hat-trick in 2013 at the National Business Excellence awards ceremony organised by the National Chamber of Commerce. Focusing on the bank’s achievemen­t, Fitch Rating Lanka ranked Bank of Ceylon at AA+(lka) which is the highest rating awarded to a local commercial bank. Bank of Ceylon is also the only Sri Lankan bank with an internatio­nal presence, with branches in Chennai, Male, Seychelles and a subsidiary in London.
