HK’s Tai Ping bolsters ties with JAT Holdings

Managing Director of Tai Ping, Richard Morris was in Sri Lanka for talks with their local partners JAT Holdings (Pvt) Ltd recently.

Tai Ping is globally recognized as the custom carpet designer and manufactur­er of choice for a discerning internatio­nal clientele. Headquarte­red in Hong Kong, Tai Ping, which means “Great Peace” in Chinese, was founded in 1956. With a presence in over 100 countries, today, Tai Ping carpets grace the floors of fine residences and palaces, private jets, yachts, hotels, casinos, airports and convention centres around the world.

Tai Ping’s associatio­n with JAT, commenced in 2013 and since then, JAT Holdings have succeeded in placing Tai Ping carpets in several prestigiou­s locations including the Colombo Internatio­nal Arbitratio­n Centre.

JAT Holdings (Pvt) Ltd was founded in 1993 with the primary objective of providing total timber coating solutions to the Sri Lankan furniture industry.

The company’s current product portfolio includes decorative, domestic and industrial Emulsion, Exterior Wall and Enamel paints, maintainer­s, put- ties and plasters, ceilings, flooring, office seating and decking and paint brushes. “Continuing our success journey, JAT has now increased its product portfolio, signing agreements with corporate entities such as Tai Ping in the region,” said Managing Director, JAT Holdings, Aelian Gunawarden­e.

“Our unique and extremely functional collection­s are inspired by global trends in design, fashion and art. Highqualit­y options are virtually limitless in style, pattern and texture, and are manufactur­ed with environmen­tally sustainabl­e materials, while our production facilities are vertically integrated, producing all carpet constructi­ons including woven Axminster, woven Wilton, Machine Tufted and Precision Jet Printed in roll and modular Carpet Tile offerings, as well as Hand Tufted and fine Hand Knotted area rugs”, said Morris.

Tai Ping operates flagship showrooms in New York City and Paris, as well as proprietar­y factories, design studios and showrooms in 100 countries over four continents. The Company’s Residentia­l Division includes the brands Tai Ping, Edward Fields and LaManufact­ureCogolin.

As Sri Lanka’s largest retailer and distributo­r of wood coatings, JAT have the exclusive distributi­on rights for Sayerlack, Herman Miller, Borma Wachs, Armstrong, Gossen, Norton, San Cora and Tai Ping. The Company also manufactur­es and distribute­s Crown, Permoglaze and Brush Master products. JAT currently owns and operates 6 show rooms in the urban and suburban areas of Sri Lanka and has a network of 11 Channel partners with a reach of 3,000 retail outlets island wide. Their production and Warehouse facility in Kahathuduw­a totals 61,000 square feet and is ISO 9001: 2000 certified.
