SSC CRICKET BASH PAVES WAY FOR FUTURE CRICKETERS

“The main idea of having the SSC Cricket Bash is to have a sound future to cricket. It must be said that the future of cricket rests on the shoulders of our Under 10 cricketers and this is the best age to groom future cricketers,” said Mohan de Silva at the launch of the cricket carnival at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) on Saturday.

Associated with him were Dinka Peiris (Secretary), Head Coach Carlton Bernadus, Lucien Madurawela, D.D.P. Alwis and a host of other SSC cricket stalwarts.

He also thanks the parents of the cricketers attending the fifth edition of the SSC Cricket Bash and raising funds towards its cost.

The cricket carnival which will draw to a close on May 4 is being held for Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 15 and Over 15 cricketers and will come under the scrutiny of Head Coach Carlton Bernadus, who made a name for himself as an excellent fielder.The teams taking part in this cricket carnival have been named: Panthers, Lions, Tigers, Cheetahs, Jaguars and Pumas.
