COLOURFUL EVENTS ATTHE MUSAEUSCOL­LEGEWALK

The Musaeus College Walk for the year 2014 will be held on Saturday May 3. The walk which is being organised by the Past Pupils Associatio­n (PPA) at Musaeus will commence at 8 am at the school premises.

The walk will kick off with a ceremonial opening by the Principal of the school and President of the PPA Mrs. S. Dandeniya and will end at the Bloomfield Cricket Grounds.

The triathlon which will be a part of the walk will comprise of marathon runners, cyclists, past pupils on trucks and horseback and a vehicle parade consisting of classic and vintage cars.

A mini fair will be held at the Bloomfield Cricket Grounds as a means of fun and interactio­n for the past and present pupils of Musaeus.

Speaking about the walk a PPA Executive Committee member Prashanthi Mahindarat­ne said the walk is being held to bring back the past pupils to the hallowed portals of the school and enhance the school's performanc­e.

"The selling of t-shirts for the walk was tremendous­ly successful and we are expecting around 6000 participan­ts for the walk comprising of past and present pupils, teachers and parents," Mrs. Mahindarat­ne said.

The funds generated by the selling of t-shirts and parapherna­lia for the walk will go to the school's Sports Fund to improve and sustain the sporting activities of the school.

The walk is being organised by the PPA supported by the Chairman and Board of Trustees, principal staff, parents and students together with the assistance of the Sri Lankan Navy, Colombo Classic and Vintage Car Club and the Academy of Design.
