DUNBAR GROUND FACES THREAT DUE TO PRIVATE CONSTRUCTI­ON

Residents in Hatton lamented about a private constructi­on work, adjacent to the grounds would cause extensive damages to the Dunbar Playground, which was developed recently by the Economic Developmen­t Ministry at a cost of Rs.18 million. They said that the constructi­on work was violating the street line regulation­s and obstructed the storm water drainage system.

Meanwhile, the athletes in the area said that the Dunbar Stadium would be lost to them before long. They were of the opinion that the owner of the building had encroached a part of the playground but the officials of the Urban Council continued to ignore the series of representa­tions made to them in this regard.
