The 58th annual NavalokaVe­sak Pandal

On a concept of the Nawaloka Group Founder and former chairman the Late Deshamanya H.K. Dharmadasa, the 58th Annual Nawaloka Pandal will be declared open on Vesak Poya Day, May 14 at the auspicious time of 7.00 p.m. at the Peliyagoda roundabout. The Nawaloka Group is proud to carry on this tradition for the 58th year.

The Nawaloka Pandal depicts the Ten Perfection­s preached by Lord Buddha – generosity (Dana), proper conduct (Sila), renunciati­on (Nekkhamma), transcende­ntal wisdom (Panna), diligence (Viriya), patience (Shati), truthfulne­ss (Sacca) determinat­ion (Adhitthana) loving-kindness (Metta) and serenity (Upekka).

The 65-foot tall and 70-foot wide pandal will be lit up with more than 60,000 coloured bulbs. The pandal will be available for public viewing for seven days beginning on Vesak Poya Day from 7.00 p.m. onwards.

The series of events arranged to coincide with the Nawaloka Pandal begins at 5:30 p.m. with a Perahara from Sedawatta Sri Nawaloka Temple to Nawaloka Buddha Shrine at Peliyagoda roundabout followed by a bana preaching at 6.00 p.m. by Ven. Kotte Sri Naga Viharadhip­athi Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera and Bhakthi Geetha by employees of Nawaloka Group at 6.45 p.m.
