The people of Sampur were living in refugee camps under tin roofing which gets extremely hot in the afternoon and those living in the camps undergo immense suffering, TNA Parliamentarian Suresh Premachandran said.

There are four such refugee camps in the area and many of those in the camps were down with mumps, he said.

Parliamentarian Sivashakthi Anandan and Premachandran visited the camps on Saturday (10).

“If the President is really keen he can solve this issue. Hence, the unfortunate situation of 3,000 people should be taken into consideration and their lands should be returned.
