Hayleys Advantis to enter free zone logistics hub operations
Hayleys Advantis Limited is set to enter into free zone logistics hub operations with the launch of Hayleys Free Zone Limited.
The fully owned subsidiary, will enable foreign and local companies to carry out entrepot trade, where merchandise can be imported and re-exported tax free.
The new facility offers all the benefits available at a free zone including warehousing and value addition where Hayleys Advantis will leverage on its decade long 3PL expertise. Clients using the free zone will have convenient access to the air and sea ports with HFZ establishing its facilities in Katunayaka and Mirijjawila. The Hayleys Free Zone will consist of modern, state-of-the-art equipment complementing optimal safety and security features.
“With the rapid development Sri Lanka is witnessing, we have seen an increasing need to deliver solutions beyond the ordinary”, said Waidyaratne speaking on behalf of Hayleys Free Zone. He went on to say “through this project, the locational advantage of Sri Lanka will be taken to the international community, contributing to the Government’s long term vision to develop Sri Lanka as a maritime and aviation hub. All credit should go to the Government for implementing this plan and enabling the setup of free zones to promote international trade.”
“We expect to commence the commercial operations of the Hayleys Free Zone by August this year, to take our already established 3PL leadership to the next level by offering free-port services to a number of global clients covering a vast number of commodities,” Waidyaratne added. This facility will approximately cover 200,000sqft of warehouse space within a land area of 7 acres within Zone 1 of the Katunayake Export Processing Zone.
