Suneetha Wijesuriya honoured

A special ceremony to distribute official badges to the title winners organised by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka took place at the Royal College Hall recently.

Mrs. Wijesuriya won a Gold Medal at the 30th Chess Olympiad held in Manila Philippines in 1992 and she held the women’s chess title for 10 years.

The Chief Guest, Grand Master Efstrations Grivas, the Fide Senior Trainer of the World Chess Federation is seen here presenting the official badge and the certificate to Mrs. Suneetha Wijesuriya. She received the Fide Instructor’s title in Sri Lanka.
