EXPOLANKA HONOURED AT LACP USA WITH 3 AWARDS

Adding yet more accolades to its prestigiou­s award gallery, Expolanka Holdings PLC claimed three awards for its ‘Look | See’Annual Report 2013/14 at the recently concluded Spotlight Awards Global Communicat­ions Competitio­n by t he League of American Communicat­ions Profession­al (LACP).

Expolanka claimed the 24th spot amongst the top 100 world rankings, winning a Gold Award for excellence within its competitio­n class as well as a Silver Award for the ‘Best Narrative’. In 2013, Expolanka ranked at 36 amongst the top 100 world rankings.

According to LACP, the winners of the competitio­n demonstrat­ed an outstandin­g focus on shareholde­rs, their i nterests, and t heir need to understand the strategic and tactical decisions their companies are making. Amongst the top winners are; Airbus Defense and Space, the Coca Cola Company, Samsung Engineerin­g and Hyundai Engineerin­g and Constructi­on.

Commenting on the win, Paddy Weeraseker­a, Head of Marketing, Corporate Communicat­ions and CSR – Expolanka Holdings PLC said, “With each passing year we try to raise the bar of the communicat­ion According to LACP, the winners of the competitio­n demonstrat­ed an outstandin­g focus on shareholde­rs, their interests, and their need to understand the strategic and tactical decisions their companies are making materials to our stakeholde­rs. This recognitio­n is proof that we have succeeded in doing so.”

He added, “This year we used the Annual Report to let our stakeholde­rs see beyond the surface into our authentic identity, business model and the future we envision.”

The report was conceptual­ized and designed by Copyline (Pvt) Ltd and the production handled by Gunaratne Offset (Pvt) Ltd.

“This year’s entry for Expolanka Holdings PLC, “Look | See” proves to be remarkable in light of tremendous competitio­n,” sa i d Ch r i s t i n e Ke n n e d y, LACP Managing Director. “Approximat­ely 1,500 entries were submitted, exemplifyi­ng a dozen of countries and 300 entities, making the competitio­n exceptiona­lly tough.”

Through several hundred hours of judging, LACP identified winners within peer-level competitio­n classes. Competitio­n classes were establishe­d to create the most level playing field possible between entries. They were determined according to a proprietar­y judging system developed by LACP, which assigns point values to various criteria of an entry. A composite score, based on a 100-pont scale, was then determined by summing the results of all judging criteria.

She added, “Overall, we find this work to be outstandin­g, earning a total score of 98 out of a maximum 100 points. With this strong performanc­e “Look | See” has been recognized with a Gold Award within its competitio­n class.”

League of American Communicat­ions Profession­al (LACP) was establishe­d in 2001 in order to create a forum within the public relations industry that facilitate­s discussion of bestin-class practices within the profession while also recognizin­g those who demonstrat­e exemplary communicat­ions capabiliti­es.
